Power Dry Convertible Balaclava

Sizing is quite small: I am 5’5” on a good day and 130 pounds, with a proportional head and face. This balaclava is hard to get on and pretty snug. But… once on and adjusted, it’s a snug fit with a little wiggle room over nose and mouth, but doesn’t slide down too easily. I had to return the S/M and get L/XL, and that’s the one I’m reviewing. Having said that, it’s an excellent product. Very warm for it’s airy weave; in teen temps with a stiff breeze, it was borderline too chilly but still useable. However, it wicks and breathes better than anything I’ve used before, so it stays drier around nose and mouth and goggles don’t fog up as easily. In mid-20 temps, it’s perfect and would work well into 30’s easily if not higher. Well shaped, despite tight fit. Larger heads might be out of luck however unless those riders and skiers don’t mind a tight squeeze.

I have a normal sized adult head and nose, and this feels too tight when I have it worn over my nose. I wish there was an XL/XXL version of this product, or the material covering the nose was more stretchy.

I bought this primarily to use for cross country skiing in the winter, but I immediately began using it for those early morning and late evening dog walks in the fall. The weight of the fabric seems quite light, but it provides a lot of warmth and protection from the cold and wind. I can stand a lot of things, but having neck exposed to the cold is not one of them - this balaclava certainly helps there.

I love this item it has gotten me through winter and made the weather bearable they have made a great product.

I realize people's head and face is different in size, but did they consider that when designing this covering? Does not stretch much. Fits very snug. Do it eventually loosen up I wonder? I hope so.
